About Me

Movie Pro
Los Angeles, California, United States
Growing up in Casper, Wyoming was no easy feat, especially just after World War II when sentiment for the Japanese remained hostile, even for those Japanese born in the U.S. After being interned at Heart Mountain, just outside of Cody, Wyoming, my father chose to make Casper his home. My family was one of three Asian families living in a city of 35,000 so it is no surprise that I chose to attend college else where – UCLA to be specific. I moved to Los Angeles and fell in love with its diversity, beautiful weather (no more cold Wyoming winters!), and wonderful people. I am an educator from a long line of educators, all the way back to feudal Japan, or so my mother once told me. Perhaps that’s why I always knew that I would become a teacher. I taught English and journalism for 27 years - 10 years at Hale Jr. High and 17 at Taft High School. I was as assistant principal at LACES for 2 1/2 years and then moved to the division of Secondary Instructional Support Services in the district's central office. I retired in January, 2008. In my leisure time I see movies, which has become both a hobby and a passion. I have a beautiful daughter and remarkable friends.
